Jordan & Egypt Tour: 12 Nights – 13 Days

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Amman

Our representative welcomes you at Amman Airport, assists you through immigration and matches with your tour leader. Then transfer to the hotel in Amman, check in, rest of the day free.

Day 2: Amman City Tour – Jerash – Amman (B)

During a city tour in Amman you visit the Citadel hill with the Temple of Hercules and the excellent Archaeological Museum, the Roman Theater in downtown area where you get an idea of everyday life. North of Amman Jerash is located, the best preserved Roman provincial city in the Middle East. View the Forum, Colonnaded Street and the Temple of Artemis. Return to Amman hotel.

Day 3: Amman – Dead Sea – Kerak – Petra (B)

Along the spectacular King's Highway, an old caravan route, we drive to Petra in southern Jordan. En route we will have a short break at the Dead Sea, to enjoy the surrounding or to float in the unique waters. Then we drive to Kerak for visiting the Crusader castle, built in 1142 and well known for its underground halls. Overnight in Petra.

Day 4: Petra (B)

The whole day we have time to discover the red-rose city of Petra, belonging to the Seven Wonders of the World. The rock city had been carved in the sandstone by the Nabataeans 2000 years ago. After leaving behind the 1.2 km narrow canyon called Siq we reach the impressing Treasury. Other highlights will be the Royal Tombs and Qasr al-Bint. Overnight in Petra.

Day 5: Petra – Wadi Rum – Aqaba (B)

In the morning we will enjoy a Jeep Tour in the spectacular desert of Wadi Rum, a dramatic landscape consisting of desert and mountains. The jeeps bring us to Nabataean inscriptions, sand dunes and canyons. In Aqaba you have half day at leisure on the Red Sea and spend the night here.

Day 6: Aqaba – Nuweiba – St. Catherine (B, D)

Around noon the ferry departs from Aqaba to Nuweiba in Egypt (running time 1 hour). Here we will be met by our guide and further on we drive to St. Catherine on foot of Mount Sinai for overnight.

Day 7: St. Catherine – Cairo (B)

Early in the morning, around 2 am, we ascend to the top of Mount Sinai. The climb lasts 2.5 hours but you will be rewarded by a spectacular sunrise and amazing views. Later we visit the St. Catherine's Monastery, believed to be located at the place, where God talked to Moses through a Burning Bush. After breakfast at the hotel and drive to your Cairo hotel, overnight here.

Day 8: Pyramids – City Tour Cairo (B)

Breakfast at the hotel, then enjoy an excursion to the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Back in Cairo visit the Egyptian Museum, displaying a rare collection of 5000 years of Egyptian art. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are presented. In Old Cairo we view the Hanging Church, the Abu Serga Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Amr Ibn El Ass Mosque. Overnight Cairo hotel.

Day 9: Cairo – Aswan (B, L, D)

In the morning transfer to Cairo Airport to depart to Aswan. Meet and assist at Aswan airport, then transfer to your Nile Cruise for embarkation before lunch. Accompanied by your Egyptologist guide visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae. Dinner and overnight in Aswan.

Day 10: Kom Ombo – Edfu – Esna (B, L, D)

Today sail to Kom Ombo to visit Temple shared by two gods Sobek and Haeroris. Have lunch on board of your cruise, continue to Edfu to view the Horus Temple. In the afternoon sail to Esna, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 11: Karnak - Luxor (B, L, D)

Breakfast and lunch on board your Nile cruise, then start to visit the East Bank in Luxor taking you to the Karnak and Luxor temples. Back to the Nile cruise for afternoon tea and dinner on board.

Day 12: Luxor - Cairo (B)

Disembarkation after breakfast, pay a visit to the West Bank of the Nile in Luxor viewing the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir EL Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Transfer to Luxor airport to fly back to Cairo, meet and assist and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 13: Departure Cairo (B)

Transfer to Cairo Airport to say farewell and to board your international flight.
